About- The 2021 Commencing Students Offshore Bursary is designed to support international students who are currently unable to travel to Australia. The bursary will be applied to eligible students for the life, of course, commenced in 2021. It can be used in conjunction with other scholarships and bursaries to a maximum of 50% of the full course fee.

Commencing Students Offshore Bursary
- The University of Wollongong is inviting students to apply for the Commencing Students Offshore Bursary and start their studies in Australia.
- The scholarship will cover 10% of the applied program’s tuition charge.
- New international students commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate study at UOWA are eligible to apply.

Location- University of Wollongong, Australia
To be eligible for the Bursary, a Student must meet the following eligibility requirements by the Census Date for the Session:
i. be an international full fee-paying coursework student;
ii. commence a UOW undergraduate or postgraduate course in a 2021 intake;
iii. be a new student to UOW*;
iv. be studying all subjects offshore (outside of Australia) in a course which ordinarily has an on-campus or flexible mode of delivery;
v. does not have the capacity to undertake face to face study, as determined by UOW;
vi. remain enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student at UOW in the course of offer***;
vii. not be enrolled in higher degree research, exchange, or non-award program.
The 10 percent Offshore Bursary for 2021 Commencing Students is meant to assist overseas students who are currently unable to travel to Australia and wish to begin their studies at UOW via remote (online) study.
The bursary will be available to qualified students for the duration of the course, which began in 2021, and can be combined with other scholarships and bursaries up to 50% of the published (full) course fee.

How to Apply: Students must submit their applications online using the university’s application site. The sponsorship will be given out based on the application for admission.
Documents to Support Your Application: Students must provide the following documents to the university:
- Completed application form
- Transcripts Authenticated
- Reports from two referees
Admissions Requirements: To be admitted to UOWA, students must submit SAT or ACT results with a minimum score of 33 or 2175, respectively.
Language Requirement: Applicants must pass the following English language competency tests with a minimum score:
- PTE – 72
- TOEFL IBT – 79
- TOEFL PBT – 550
- CAE – 180
- CPE – 180
- IELTS – 7.0
