National Taiwan University, Taiwan invites application for International Graduate Scholarship for eligible and interested candidates
About- One of the questions you may have about studying at NTU would be how to finance your stay in Taiwan. Fortunately, NTU has many scholarships available for prospective students that can be applied for at the same time while you are submitting your application. Additionally, the government of Taiwan also provides scholarships for international students.
The scholarships on this page are exclusively for degree students (undergraduate and graduate). For scholarships for non-degree programs (exchange and visiting), please inform with your home university about the possibilities.
To accelerate the pace of internationalization, recruit international students and
to encourage international degree students with excellent personal and academic
conduct to achieve outstanding results, National Taiwan University (hereafter the
University) formulates the following regulations.
Study level- Graduate
Location- National Taiwan University, Taiwan
Eligibility/Qualification–
(1) Students applying for admission in accordance with the Ministry of
Education’s “Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking
Studies in Taiwan”.
(2) Already enrolled students: when the GPA of the previous year is more than
3.2. If the student has been enrolled for less than a year, than the previous
semester’s score will be calculated.
Eligibility criteria for extension:
(1) Undergraduate students: the average academic performance of freshmen
students should be a GPA of 3.0 (inclusive) and above, the average academic
performance of sophomores should be GPA 3.2 (inclusive) and above, and the
average academic performance of junior students transitioning to senior year
should be a GPA of 3.33 (inclusive) and above.
(2) Master students: the academic performance in the previous year should be a
GPA of 3.5 (inclusive) and above.
(3) Doctoral students: each college defines its criteria for renewal and carries out
the review.
The eligibility criteria for extension as laid out above apply to recipients starting from
the academic year 2020/21. Grant recipients from the academic year 2019/20 or
before are not subject to these extension restrictions
Job/Position Description-
Subsidies for tuition and miscellaneous fees: this doesn’t include
administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurance, accommodation, internet
fees and other such fees, which grant recipients shall bear on their own. The
upper limit of the subsidies for tuition and miscellaneous fees per semester is
subsidized according to the fee standard of each college for undergraduate,
graduate and doctoral students and can be up to TWD 130,000. The grant
recipient shall bear the remaining amount.
Stipend: TWD 6,000 per month for every recipient
Duration of Grants:
(1) Freshmen: doctoral students can receive the grant for up to three years, master
students for up to two years, and undergraduate students for up to four years.
(2) Already enrolled students: one academic year from September to August of
the following year.
How to Apply-
(1) Freshmen: please apply to the Office of International Affairs at the same time
when applying for admission.
(2) Already enrolled students: please apply to the Office of International Affairs
according to the yearly announced time and regulations.
