The Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) was founded in 1954 in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is a fully funded scholarship for international students in undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs.

Eligibility Criteria for KMU Taiwan
- Applicants must be non-Taiwanese international students.
- Applicants must be physically and mentally fit.
- Applicants may not hold more than one scholarship at a time.
- Applicants must correctly complete the application form and submit all relevant materials.
- High school graduates can apply for Bachelor’s degree programs.
- Applicants having a bachelor’s degree may apply for master’s degree programs.
- Applicants having a master’s degree may apply for Ph.D. programs.
Scholarship Details
- Type A: 1 year free tuition, NTD 10,000 monthly stipend, and free dormitory/housing.
- Type B: One-year tuition waiver and housing reimbursement.
- Type C: No tuition for one year
Interested students should apply for the KMU International Student Scholarship online. Each type of stipend has its own budget:
Undergraduates can only apply for Type C, Masters students can apply for Type B and C, and Ph.D. students can apply for all types. Failure to follow the above steps may impact the outcome of the application.

- Two recommendation letters
- Passport
- Study plan: The study plan can be written in English or Chinese.
- English Proficiency Certificate: If the previous degree is all English-taught courses, applicants may ask the university/department/advisor to issue the official statement that ” the medium of instruction is English at this institute.”
- Academic thesis or relevant publications (for Ph.D. program applicants).

How to Apply
- Go to the application website and select [Undergraduate Program] or [Master/Ph.D.]. Set up a personal account. Applicants can apply to 3 programs. No applications accepted without online registration.
- Carefully read the Declaration and accept the requirements. The application form will not be saved if any mandatory fields are left blank.
- Upload all files and pay the application fee (applicants of School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine only). Applying online requires uploading papers before the application deadline.
- After filling out the application form, print it off, sign it, and scan it.
- Create two referrers for each program.
- Click “Submit Application” to finish the application.
