The University of Derby invites application for Scholarships and discounts for eligible and interested candidates

About- the University of Derby has a range of scholarships and discounts available to international students. You will need to apply separately for the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship, the International Excellent Student Scholarship, and the GREAT Scholarship, but all others are automatically assessed alongside your application. You must be applying for a full-time degree. Applications for postgraduate research, online studies, foundation, and pre-sessional language programs are not eligible for a discount or scholarship. 

If you are from an EU country, you will be eligible for international scholarships if you are joining us from September 2021. If you have home fee status or have EU settled or pre-settled status in the UK, you are not eligible for international scholarships but you may be eligible for the Derby Achievement Scholarship

Eligibility/Qualification–

Award Criteria: to be eligible for a Scholarship, the Student must:

  • not qualify for home fee status; and
  • have applied for a full-time Programme at the University campus; and
  • meet the entry criteria for the relevant Programme, including any criteria specified in the Offer Letter;
  • have been selected by the University’s admissions team following an additional application process (applies only to the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship and International Excellent Student Scholarship).

Job/Position Description- 

a) A Scholarship will be granted at the sole discretion of the University, and is granted in accordance with the terms specified in these Terms and Conditions of Scholarship, the Award Criteria, and the Offer Letter. If you would like to see the scholarship criteria for your country, please email scholarship@derby.ac.uk

b) The Offer Letter will specify the value of the Scholarship, with the exception of the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship and International Excellent Student Scholarship, which can be applied for once an offer has been made All Scholarships are subject to compliance of the Student with the terms set out in these Terms and Conditions of Scholarship, the Award Criteria, the Offer Letter and the Student Contract.

c) Scholarships are awarded for one year of study only and details will be set out in the Offer Letter.

d) Scholarships are for all or part of your first year Fees and do not cover any maintenance costs, and no cash alternatives are available.

e) The Scholarship is offered for a specified Programme. If you choose to study on another programme, the University cannot guarantee that you will receive it for that programme, and you will need to speak with the University if you no longer wish to study on the Programme.

f) Scholarship students may also be eligible for a Discount.

You will need to apply separately for the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship, the International Excellent Student Scholarship and the GREAT Scholarship. You can apply for all three scholarships at the same time, but will only be awarded one if your application is successful. The deadline for applications is 1 July 2021 at 23:59 BST. Decisions on the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship and GREAT Scholarships will be made after this date.
