Designation/Position- Summer Internship Program

The University of Tokyo invites application for The University of Tokyo Summer Internship Program in Kashiwa for eligible and interested candidates

About- UTSIP Kashiwa, initially only for undergraduate students from overseas universities, will be accepting applications for UTSIP Kashiwa 2020 from undergraduate students of the College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo.

Research/Job Area-  Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Information Technology, International Studies, Materials Sciences, Advanced Energy, Ocean Science, Physics and Sustainability Science Studies.

Location-  Kashiwanoha, Kashiwa, Chiba- Japan

Eligibility/Qualification–

  1. Participants must be in their undergraduate program at an overseas college or university throughout the entire duration of UTSIP program, and will not have completed their BA/BS degree.
  2. Participants who are considering matriculating to graduate level study at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences or other graduate schools at The University of Tokyo, or elsewhere in Japan
  3. Participants are required to participate in all activities including classes, laboratory work, and special events organized by UTSIP.

Job/Position Description- 

provides hands-on research internship opportunities in the fields of natural sciences and social sciences.
offers lectures from world-leading researchers at GSFS.
is a six-week summer program for academically motivated undergraduate students.
provides various activities in which students can socialize with participants from other laboratories.
provides accommodations in which all UTSIP participants are required to stay.

All participants will be assigned to a laboratory in which he/she is interested to work and will conduct a research project under the guidance of a faculty member or senior graduate students. Each laboratory has at least one (1) UTSIP participant from an overseas university.

How to Apply- 

Step 1:Choose a professor/laboratory to work in from the host laboratory list
Step 2:Apply via email by attaching three (3) application documents and mentioning the laboratory of your preference in the email.

Apply via e-mail to ilo.secretariat[at]edu.k.u-tokyo.ac.jp (change [at] with @) and attach the three (3) application documents.

Include the laboratory of your preference in your email.

Write “Application for UTSIP Kashiwa 2021: Undergraduate students of College of Arts and Sciences, UTokyo” on your e-mail subject line.

Last Date for Apply– Deadline will be announced in April
