Eligibility/Qualification

  • Residing in an ODA-recipient country where British Council is operational.
  • PhD must have been completed within the last 7 years.
  • Research topics should align with the designated areas.
  • Cannot have a permanent designation at a university.
  • Must not have availed a previous Fellowship at IASH.
  • Must present at least one seminar during the program.
  • A report on the research must be submitted at the end of the fellowship.

Description

The British Council 90th Anniversary Research Fellowships provide an enriching environment for postdoctoral researchers seeking to advance their knowledge and engage in collaborative research. Fellows are given ample opportunities for networking and idea exchange, working closely with renowned scholars at the University of Edinburgh. The program also offers facilities for conducting research while promoting knowledge exchange through visits to the British Council offices.

  3. Provide personal information, educational background, and employment details.
  4. Include the title and summary of the proposed research project.
  5. Provide the name of the mentor and list referees who will submit references to iash@ed.ac.uk.
  6. Mention proposed fellowship periods and answer any additional questions in the form.
  7. Upload all required documents: Passport, CV, Research proposal, Cover letter, and 2-3 confidential references.
