Fellows are expected to pursue their own research projects, which must structurally align with the KWI’s overarching research agenda. The position requires residing in the region for the duration of the fellowship to actively participate in the institute’s vibrant academic life and engage in interdisciplinary discourse with fellow international researchers and partner universities.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Experience: Open to researchers with up to six years of postdoctoral experience following the completion of their PhD.
  • Nationality: Scholars from all over the world are eligible. German citizens are only eligible if they are currently employed by an international organization outside of Germany.
  • Project Alignment: The submitted project proposal must directly address topics within KWI’s core research sectors.
