Eligibility & Qualifications
General eligibility requires candidates to meet standard YYGS admission criteria, demonstrate verified financial need, and complete the financial aid section of the application. Specific scholarship categories have additional criteria:
1. New Haven Public Schools (NHPS) Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in and attending a New Haven Public School.

Scholarship Description
YYGS scholarships represent Yale University’s commitment to access and affordability in global education. Rather than requiring separate scholarship submissions, YYGS staff automatically review every applicant who completes the financial aid section against all scholarship criteria.
While full scholarships are awarded to candidates meeting specific priority criteria, applicants with demonstrated financial need who do not receive a named scholarship are still considered for substantial partial tuition discounts.
