Eligibility / Qualification

  • Nationality: Must be an international applicant from an ASEAN or Non-ASEAN country.
  • Academic Background: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s applicants) or a Master’s degree (for Ph.D. applicants) in a relevant field.
  • Academic Performance: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or equivalent.
  • Age Limit: Must not be over 35 years of age at the time of application.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • TOEFL minimum score of 500 (paper-based) or 173 (computer-based), OR
    • IELTS minimum overall band score of 5.0.
  • Health: Must be in good physical and mental health (medical certificate required).
  • Restrictions: Students who have already been studying in any program at Chulalongkorn University for more than one semester are not eligible. Preference is given to faculty members and academic staff returning to their home institutions.

Scholarship Description & Financial Benefits

The scholarship covers the entire study period (2 years for Master’s, 3 years for Ph.D.) and includes:

  • Full Tuition Waiver: Covers mandatory university tuition fees (special faculty/program fees may require prior departmental arrangement).
  • Monthly Allowance & Accommodation: 16,000 THB per month to cover housing and living costs.
  • Round-Trip Airfare (Economy Class): Reimbursed upon arrival according to geographic limits:
    • ASEAN Countries: Up to 8,500 THB per leg
    • Asian Countries: Up to 12,000 THB per leg
    • Europe, Africa, Australia & New Zealand: Up to 20,000 THB per leg
    • North & South America: Up to 30,000 THB per leg

How to Apply

  1. Choose a Program: Identify the Master’s or Ph.D. program and verify faculty-specific requirements on the official Chulalongkorn University portal.
  2. Prepare Required Documents:
    • Completed Application Form with a 1-inch photograph attached.
    • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
    • Official Academic Transcripts and Degree Certificates.
    • Copy of a valid Passport.
    • Two Letters of Recommendation (from an institutional head, dean, or superior).
    • Physical Examination / Medical Certificate from a recognized hospital.
    • English proficiency test scorecard (TOEFL or IELTS).
  3. Submit Application: Send the completed form and all supporting documents directly to the chosen Faculty/Program at least two weeks before the central university deadline.
