Eligibility/Qualification

  • Applicants must hold a passport not from the EU/EEA and be ineligible for Dutch financial aid.
  • First-time applicants for a UvA Master’s program (those already holding a UvA master’s degree are disqualified).
  • Must meet all Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) requirements for a Dutch visa.
  • Enrollment in full-time classes for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) offers either full or partial coverage of tuition fees for exceptional international students, allowing them to pursue their master’s degrees at one of Europe’s top universities.
