Scholarship Description

The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) enables qualified citizens from developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies in Japan. Asia Pacific University has participated in this initiative since 2010, hosting scholars for standard two-year Master’s degree programs.

Eligibility/Qualification

Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements:

  • Currently reside and work in their home country (not residing or working abroad).
  • Have earned a bachelor’s degree and completed at least two years of full-time professional work experience after graduation.
  • Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
  • Not be currently enrolled in any graduate degree program.
  • Not be an executive director, staff member, consultant, or close relative of ADB personnel.
  • Agree to return to their home country upon completion of the degree.
  • Plan to enroll at APU for the September 2027 term.

  • Abstract of a bachelor’s thesis, previous written research sample, or list of academic achievements (if applicable).

  • Certification of family income (including parents or spouse).
