Scholarship Description

The JINR START Winter Program is fully funded to cover all major expenses associated with travel, residence, and living costs in Russia:

  • Travel Expenses: Students purchase round-trip travel tickets from their home or university city to Dubna, and JINR reimburses these expenses upon submission of travel documents.
  • Visa & Insurance: Visa application fees and medical health insurance expenses are fully covered following document verification.
  • Accommodation: Complete lodging arrangements and payments are made directly by JINR for the duration of the program.
  • Living Stipend: Participants receive a daily allowance of 2,000 Rubles, funded directly by the assigned JINR laboratory to assist with local expenses.

Eligibility / Qualification Criteria

To qualify for consideration, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Open to applicants of all nationalities worldwide.
  • Must be specializing in Science, Engineering, or Information Technology (STEM fields).
  • Eligible academic levels include students from their 3rd/4th year of undergraduate studies, Master’s students, up to 1st-year PhD candidates.
  • Must be under 30 years of age at the time of application.
  • Applicants must not have previously taken part in the JINR Summer Student Program or START program.
  • No English proficiency test (IELTS or TOEFL) is mandatory.
