Eligibility/Qualification

  • Must intend to study abroad in Japan.
  • Must be a national of a MEXT designated country (check the list here).
  • Born on or after April 2, 1990.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.30/3.00 in the last degree.
  • Should not be actively serving in military duty.
  • Must come to Japan during the specified time by APU.
  • Cannot have previously availed another MEXT scholarship unless with 3 years of educational research experience afterward.
  • Cannot apply for or receive another MEXT scholarship concurrently.
  • Must have a student status of residence in Japan.
