Eligibility/Qualification
To be considered, candidates must meet all of the following mandatory criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen and resident of Mauritius.
- Age Limit: Must be under 35 years of age by August 5, 2026.
- Secondary Academics:
- Obtained five credits at SC or GCE O-Level (including English Language) in one single sitting.
- Passed three HSC or GCE A-Level principal subjects in one single sitting.
- Undergraduate Qualification: Must hold a minimum of an Upper Second-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree (2:1) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- University Offer: Must possess a firm or conditional admission offer from a recognized university for the 2027 academic year prior to applying.
- Ineligibility: Individuals who already hold a Master’s degree (or higher) or have previously received a Mauritian Government scholarship cannot apply.
Job Description (Coverage & Service Responsibilities)
While this is an academic award, selected scholars receive comprehensive financial compensation and must commit to a post-graduation service agreement.

- Monthly Living Allowance: A stipend to cover accommodation, materials, and daily living costs.
- Return Airfare: Economy class travel provided for students studying overseas.
- Service Undertaking: Successful scholars must sign a formal legal undertaking agreeing to return to Mauritius immediately after completing their overseas studies. They are bound to work in either the public or private sector in Mauritius for at least two years to apply their acquired skills to national development.
