Sustainability Abroad Scholarship: Each year, Butex awards several scholarships to undergraduate students studying abroad for a semester or a whole academic year, as well as students undertaking summer school programs, overseas work, internships, or traineeships. For 2024, Butex is introducing the Sustainability Abroad Scholarship, which promotes sustainable practices and environmental consciousness while fostering international study experiences.

Scholarship Description
The Sustainability Abroad Scholarship supports students who aspire to study abroad with a focus on sustainability. This scholarship encourages a deepened understanding of global environmental challenges and the exchange of innovative ideas, fostering a global network of individuals dedicated to creating a sustainable future. The value of each scholarship is £500, payable upon arrival and registration at the host university or upon confirmation of a completed placement. Additionally, the Tony Emmerson Award, also valued at £500, will be given to a successful American Studies student.
Eligibility
- Must be an undergraduate student affiliated with a Butex Full Member institution.
- Must be an incoming or outgoing study abroad student.
- Placement must occur in the calendar year of application.
- Placement can be for one semester or one year for study abroad; summer school, work, internship, or traineeship placements must be overseas.
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate course at the time of application and scholarship receipt.
