The University of Helsinki is inviting applications for the 2026 scholarship program for international students pursuing Master’s Degree Programs. This fully funded scholarship aims to provide financial support to deserving candidates who wish to study in Finland.

  • University of Helsinki Tuition Fees 💰
    Master’s programmes: €13,000 to €18,000 per academic year; Bachelor’s programmes: €13,000 per year
    Joint programmes may have different fees.
  • Fee Consistency 🔒
    The individual fee remains the same throughout the programme duration.
  • Exemption for Students Before 2017 🕰️
    No fees for students who started before August 1, 2017.
  • Tuition Fee Exemptions from 1 December 2024 📅
    Non-EU/EEA/Swiss students without permanent residence status will have to pay tuition fees.
  • Exemptions from Tuition Fees 🏠
    Students with Finnish permanent residence card, long-term EU residence permit, or other specific residence permits are exempt.
  • Erasmus Mundus and Other Specific Exemptions 🌍
    Erasmus Mundus-funded students and those with certain residence permits are also exempt.
  • Continuous Residence Permit (Type A) 🛂
    Students with a continuous residence permit may be exempt, but if granted for studying, fees apply.
  • Responsibility to Prove Exemption 📑
    Students must demonstrate their exemption status.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Open to all nationalities outside the EU/EEA.
  • Must be enrolled in a master’s degree course at the University of Helsinki.
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree with excellent results.
  • If English is not your native language, you must submit a language proficiency certificate (TOEFL or IELTS).

Job Description

  • Receive financial assistance covering 50% to 100% of tuition fees (ranging from 13,000 to 18,000 euros).
