Eligibility/Qualification
- Applicants must be no older than 35 years of age at the time of application.
- Candidates must be citizens of a low- or middle-income BWC State Party according to the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee.
- A degree in life sciences or a related field from a recognized university is required. Candidates with a social sciences background interested in biosecurity may also apply.
- Strong English language skills (both written and spoken) are essential.
Description
The Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship provides selected fellows with the opportunity to actively participate in the Meeting of the Working Group on the strengthening of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) and engage with leading experts in the fields of disarmament, nonproliferation, biosecurity, and health security. The fellowship includes a month-long online workshop to prepare fellows for the Working Group meeting and offers networking opportunities with other young scientists, diplomats, and international youth networks.
