Location

  • Fellowships must be conducted in different countries, depending on the current residence of the applicant:
  • Students in Germany must undertake placements in a second country.
  • Students outside Germany must conduct their fellowships at a German research institution.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Open to master, PhD, and medical students across relevant scientific disciplines.
  • Specific qualifications vary by fellowship:
  • Drug Discovery Sciences: Students from all scientific disciplines, including pharmacy and data science.
  • Agricultural Science: Students from all scientific disciplines with relevance to the crop science industry.
  • Medical Sciences: Students of human and veterinary medicine, master’s and PhD students in related fields.
  • Climate & Health: Students in medicine, natural sciences, pharmacy, public health, or epidemiology focusing on climate change impacts on health.
  • STEM Teaching Fellowship: Trainee teachers or newly qualified teachers focusing on STEM subjects, currently working or studying in Germany.
  • Fellowship for Apprentices: Apprentices, dual students, or early career professionals without a university degree, currently undertaking their profession in a German-speaking country.

Job Description

  • The fellowship provides funding up to 10,000 € for internships, research projects, personal development, training, and support for parents pursuing further education.
  • Fellowships are available for up to six months for most programs and up to twelve months for the STEM Teaching and Apprentices fellowships.
